High School Basketball

Every year, the Billings Family YMCA hosts a competitive high school basketball league for boys. To keep gameplay fair and evenly matched, there are separate divisions for 9-10th and 11-12th graders. The goal of our high school basketball league is to teach teamwork, build skills, and help players stay active and healthy.

Register by Dec. 8 to avoid a $20 late fee.

Benefits of Playing in Our High School Basketball League

Competing in a high school basketball league is great for teenage boys on several different levels. By playing basketball, they'll form friendships, learn how to work with others as a team, and develop valuable physical abilities including reflexes, coordination, and endurance. In our high school basketball league, players will discover that playing their best and winning a game is great, but good sportsmanship and dedicated teamwork always matter most.

Captains Meeting Information

Captains MUST be present to secure teams spot in the league. Teams must have a minimum of 8 players to join league. No exceptions.

DATE: Monday, December 1st

TIME: 6:00 p.m.

Game Information

Games start Monday, December 8th, and Friday, December 12th. Each team will get one game before the holiday break. Games will pick up again after the holiday break. Games held in YMCA Fortin Gym.

All local boys ages 13-18 can participate in the Billings Family YMCA's high school basketball league, as long as they're not currently playing on their school's team. All players must present an ID before their first game and random ID checks may occur throughout the season.

All players must register for our high school basketball league by December 8th to avoid a late fee. The deadline for registration is December 12th. Individuals are not guaranteed team placement; only those signing up with a full team of at least eight members are guaranteed placement.

The Billings Family YMCA separates high school basketball players into two divisions: one for 9th and 10th grade, and another for 11th and 12th grade. However, 9/10th graders may play in the older division if they demonstrate sufficient skill.

Basketball players must purchase and wear their own uniforms, which can be purchased for $13. Each team is also required to bring a scorekeeper to every league game and players should always have their ID.

Generally, grades 9-10 play on Monday nights while grades 11-12 play their games on Friday nights. However, the number of teams in each division may affect the scheduling of games.

Our high school basketball league registration fee is $70 for our members and $90 for non-members. This fee covers league administration, referees, and facility use, but not jerseys.

Teams may be formed by groups of friends, or school/community groups. Individuals that sign up will be assigned a team if space allows, but they are not guaranteed team placement.

At the Billings Family YMCA, all high school basketball games are monitored by referees to ensure good sportsmanship and safe, fair play. Parents are expected to make sure players bring an ID, show up for every game, and follow the rules of the league.
