Parent and Consumer Reporting

By providing parents/guardians with information about our YMCA's policies, we enlist them as informal members of the risk management team. Parents/guardians can recognize interactions that may be inappropriate or that put consumers at risk.

Our YMCA provides parents/guardians with online resources that refer to our YMCA's policies and procedures related to child abuse prevention.

The following policies are listed as educational references for parents and consumers on our website. They include:

  • Code of conduct for employees/volunteers
  • Policies regarding appropriate and inappropriate displays of physical affection
  • Policies regarding appropriate and inappropriate verbal communication
  • Policies regarding one-on-one interactions and outside contact between employees/volunteers and consumers
  • Policies regarding one-on-one interactions and outside contact between employees/volunteers and consumers
  • Policies regarding electronic communication between employees/volunteers and consumers
  • Policies regarding gift giving and receiving with consumers and employees/volunteers.
  • Policies regarding appropriate and inappropriate interactions between consumers

To file a complaint, parents or consumers should do the following:

  • First talk to your child’s staff.
  • If you feel the issue has not been addressed, you can contact the Youth Development Director (406) 294-1619 or via email at youthdev@billingsymca.org or the Associate Executive Director at (406) 294-1613.
  • If you still need assistance, you may contact the CEO at admin@billingsymca.org.
  • To submit anonymous concerns, parents/guardians or consumers may also call the Presidium Hotline 855-347-0751.  All reports are confidential.
  • Upon reports or complaints, the CEO and guardian will launch an investigation. During investigation the CEO and Guardian will determine if any further actions are needed and/or will contact parents via email/phone call if further meetings or information is needed. All reports are confidential.  The step by step response guide will be followed.

Our YMCA uses a variety of methods for maintaining ongoing awareness of abuse risk and prevention amongst parents/guardians and is actively participating in initiatives around Child Abuse Prevention throughout the year and during April Child Abuse Prevention month and Five Days of Action.
