AFTER SKILLS DAY
Teams will be formed after Skills Day. Once teams are assigned, you will receive an email with your team name and, if applicable, your coach’s contact information.
If your team does not yet have a coach, it means we are still looking for a volunteer. If you’re interested in coaching, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d love your support!
Practices will begin the week following Skills Day. There will be two weeks of practice before the first games, which start on November 8th.
We offer a variety of youth fall basketball programs for children ages 3-14. Our Tiny Tots programs are designed for 3- to 5-year-olds, with league programs available for kids in kindergarten up through 8th grade.
During a mandatory skills day, basketball players will be evaluated on their fundamentals and then assigned teams to create balanced gameplay.
All games and practices are at YMCA Fortin Gym. Games are always held on Saturdays, while practice times vary by age and enrollment. There will be no games or practices during Thanksgiving week.
Skills Day is a mandatory pre-season event for kindergarten through 8th grade programs. Our instructors will assess player fundamentals like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense to form balanced teams.
Yes, 1-on-1 youth basketball sessions are available for children in 3rd grade and above. During these sessions, players will train under Coach Rocky Owens to improve their individual skills and learn game strategy.
