Protecting Your Health & Safety

At the YMCA, our greatest priority has always been protecting the health and safety of all who enter our doors. In light of COVID-19, our team has been working around the clock to implement additional procedures and protocols to ensure a socially responsible environment that aligns with our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

What You Can Expect

Enhanced Cleaning & Disinfecting

We have implemented the latest cleaning protocols from the CDC. Areas of our facilities will have rolling, brief closures throughout the day for cleaning and facility hours will be reduced to allow for additional disinfection at the start and end of each day. We invested in electrostatic sprayers to ensure thorough disinfection.

Retrained Staff

Our staff has been retrained in the latest cleaning and disinfection protocols provided by the CDC and will be focused on continual sanitization of all areas of our facility.

Social Distancing

We’ve reconfigured spaces to allow for social distancing and added clear directional signage throughout our facility to direct the flow of traffic. You’ll find fitness equipment spaced out, lobbies free of excess furniture and markers on the floor to make social distancing easy. Loitering is not permitted in our facility at any time.

Sanitation Stations

Additional hand sanitizing stations and sanitizer wipes will be available throughout our facility.

Masks

Staff and Volunteers are required to wear masks or face shields in our facilities. There are a few exceptions, including:

  • Land and water Group X instructors, swim instructors and karate instructors are not required to wear masks while teaching class.
  • Lifeguards while on duty.
  • Staff while in personal offices.
  • Outdoors, when 6 feet social distancing can be maintained at all times.

Health Checks

All staff, volunteers and children in Y programs will be temperature-screened. Anyone showing signs of COVID-19 or who has a temperature of 98.8 or higher, will not be permitted to enter for the safety of all members.

Entry/Exit Points

To maintain our safety protocols, The Billings Family YMCA has updated entry doors to automatic non-touch doors.  We have restricted doors to limited contact.  Our doors will be clearly marked with signs.

Facility & Equipment Availability

To protect your health and safety, we have limited access to fitness equipment to ensure 6 feet social distancing is maintained.  We continue to work on spacing equipment to open more equipment for members.  We have also limited program participation.

Contactless Scanning

As always, all will be required to scan in at the welcome desk to access the facility. Stationary scanners will be available for contactless scanning. Plexiglass shields have been installed at our welcome desks so that you are able to safely talk with staff.

Water Fountains

To protect everyone’s health, water fountains will not be available. However, you will be able to use the bottle fillers.

Covid-19 Member Policies

An updated Member list of policies will be in place to ensure we all work together to protect one another’s health and safety.
